The school received a record number of freshman and transfer applicants for the fall 2019 semester, topping out at over 106,000. The student applicants will be vying for around 10,000 open seats.

LBSU 2019 commencement to move to the Jack Rose Track

California colleges grow marijuana degrees
Possession of marijuana at Long Beach State remains illegal, but multiple universities across the U.S. have begun offering courses and degrees in marijuana sales and growth.
University of California, Los Angeles currently offers a research program in cannabis. According to its website, The UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative is one of the first academic programs in the world dedicated to the study of cannabis.
$2.4 billion left unused in FAFSA
A study conducted in December 2018 revealed that more students felt discouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid because of the complicated process, which left $2.4 billion in federal grant money unused. Library bus stop closure extended due to weather
The Liberal Arts 1 bus stop is now open. According to a CSULB Parking twitter post, bus routes along West Campus Drive are now available for normal pick up. Upper campus construction and bus stop closure has been extended to March 30 due to weather, the campus announced March 19.[Read More…]
