A pair of Long Beach State women took home individual victories in the track and field team's season-opening meet at the Ben Brown Invitational on Saturday. Tara Ross finished at the top of the leaderboard in the javelin with a toss of 158-09, which ranks the senior fifth in school history. The Long Beach State track and field team kicked off its season-opening outdoor meet with the hammer throw at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton on Thursday. Colin Dunbar led the 49er men as he topped his lifetime best by 14 feet, 5 inches. The Long Beach State track and field team had a strong showing at the Flotrack Husky Classic this weekend as the distance runners notched nine all-time top 10 marks in 49ers history.
