A slow start plagued the Long Beach State women's basketball team Friday night as it dropped a 76-44 decision to Nebraska at Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.Whitney Fields scored a team-high 12 points, with 10 coming in the second half, to pace the 49ers. Junior middle blocker Naomi Washington was named to the All-West Region team announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday.Senior setter Nicole Vargas earned an honorable mention selection, as well.Washington finished second in the Big West Conference with a .351 hitting percentage.
