A peek at upcoming albums

Morissey to release new LP

He’s back. After writing an extremely popular autobiography last year, former Smiths frontman Morrissey announced he is recording a new album with Harvest Records.

His last LP in 2009, “Years of Refusal,” was one of his best. As to what sound fans can expect from the Morrissey LP, that much is unsure.

Morrissey’s contract with Harvest Records also allows him to make one more album after the yet-to-be-named project is finished.

Albarn to release “Everyday Robots”

Set to be released on Apr. 28, “Everyday Robots” is easily one of the year’s most anticipated albums.

Albarn, who fronts ‘90s Britpop mega giant Blur, has never released a solo LP in his 20-year plus music career.

Led by the single “Everyday Robots,” Albarn’s LP should turn on any fan of Blur or Gorillaz, the virtual band co-created by Albarn in 1998.

The single’s electronic sounds closely resemble the same effects Albarn used with “The Good, The Bad and The Queen,” a supergroup he formed with former Clash bass player Paul Simonon, former Verve guitarist Simon Tong and drummer Tony Allen.

The album can be pre-ordered from the Warner Music Store.
