Guests cling to each other for warmth, as well as for protection, while walking around a foggy area. Behind them lurk masked creatures, who suddenly slide up next to them. The guests scream, while the creatures laugh dementedly.
Dark Harbor, celebrating 17 years, once again brings a frightening attraction to the Queen Mary.
Complete with five mazes — "Hellfire," "Submerged," "Containment," "The Cage" and "The Village of the Damned" — as well as several scare zones, Dark Harbor is an ideal location for those looking for a night of chills and thrills.
Something that makes Dark Harbor stand out from other Halloween events is its location. With all the rumors that suggest that the Queen Mary is actually haunted, it comes as no surprise that this adds to Dark Harbor's effect.
Several of Dark Harbor's mazes are conveniently placed aboard the Queen Mary itself, adding an extra eerie chill to the attractions.
Possibly one of the most creepy attractions, "Submerged" brings attendees by the haunted swimming pool aboard the ship. As well, victims beg for help as the ship "sinks," and a younger-looking scare actor begs guests to help her "find her mommy."
Guests can also easily get disoriented while walking through pitch-black mazes. While this can provide extra scares, it can also be negative because it makes it hard to see some of the gruesome props, like severed heads, that decorate the mazes.
Nevertheless, the event is still a chilling thrill ride full of entertaining attractions. With a true haunted history, guests can become easily spooked.
Tickets for Dark Harbor are $27 for students and $29 for general admission. For more information, visit queenmarydarkharbor.com.
