Daily 49er selects its new Editor in Chief

Junior international studies and journalism double major Paige Pelonis has been selected to be the next editor in chief of the Daily 49er.

Pelonis currently serves as an assistant opinions editor for the Daily 49er. She also wrote and anchored College Beats’ international news program, “The Wire,” for the 2012-13 school year.

She spent the fall 2013 semester in Washington, D.C. interning for Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Tulare, at the annual Congressional Internship Program, which was run by the Panetta Institute for Public Policy.

Pelonis said that while serving as editor in chief, she plans on implementing several new projects to help spread word on campus about the Daily 49er and change the current staff structure to increase student involvement.

Pelonis will take over when current Editor in Chief Daniel Serrano graduates in May.
