Stolen vehicle recovered

On Sept. 28, at 2:35 a.m., a vehicle reported stolen to the Long Beach Police Department was recovered in parking structure 1, Lt. Goodwin said. The vehicle that was recovered was a 1993, black, 4-door Honda. Lt. Goodwin said that the vehicle was towed and stored. He said there were no people found with the car, and the owner has been contacted.

Man taken into custody and fined after making verbal threats

Lt. Goodwin said that on Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m., a 51-year-old male who is not a student was taken into custody and cited after making verbal threats near Brotman Hall. Police found the man after he was seen walking by the ground floor of the University Student Union. Lt. Goodwin said that the reporting party filed a private-person arrest form, “meaning that it was a misdemeanor committed not in the presence of officers,” which allowed them to take the subject into custody. He was taken back to the station, cited, released and advised not to return for seven days, the Lieutenant said.

Report of assault in USU game room

On Sept. 25, at 3:46 p.m., police received a report of an assault in the game room of the USU. Lt. Goodwin reported that a Hispanic male – measuring approximately 5’9 – with long, straight, black hair and long side burns approached the victim and pushed him – attempting to instigate a fight. He said that police were not able to find the subject; a report was taken, and the victim did not suffer any injuries.

Five individuals were judicially cited campus police caught them smoking marijuana between the International House and the parking lot on Sept. 25, at 3:30 p.m., Lt. Goodwin said.

Iphone 5s stolen

Lt. Goodwin said a white iPhone 5s was stolen from the free weight area of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on Sept. 25, between 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The phone was stolen along with a pair of white headphones, and the approximate value is $600 Lt. Goodwin said. Police took a report but have no information on a suspect at this time.

Vehicle vandalism in parking lot 20

A 2014, 2-door white Honda Civic was vandalized in parking lot 20 at 10:03 a.m., on Sept. 25, Lt. Goodwin said the reporting party returned to his car after class, and noticed the passenger side of the vehicle had been keyed. Police took a report, but currently have no suspects.
