Suspected Hispanic man stalking female restrooms and locker rooms

A Hispanic man was reported trespassing in the female restrooms around campus on Sept. 28 and Oct. 1, according a crime bulletin posted by the University Police on Oct. 5.

In the first incident, a female student heard a man’s voice say to her while she was in the restroom stall, “…you should wear pantyhose with that dress.” She said she saw a male when she stepped out of the stall, but reported that a Hispanic man wearing a Hawaiian shirt was possibly following her before she entered the women’s restroom in the second floor of Peterson Hall 2 at 10 a.m.

Another female student reported witnessing a man matching the suspect’s description in the female locker room in the Kinesiology building on Thursday at 6:50 p.m.

At 7:10 p.m. that same day, two other female students reported seeing a Hispanic man entering the women’s restroom in the third floor of the University Student Union.

According to the witnesses in the crime bulletin, the man was described as having a medium build, bald or short hair, light-skinned and wore black clothes in most of the cases.

Sexual assault in Los Cerritos Hall under investigation

A female student said a male student sexually assaulted her on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. The victim and alleged assailant both knew each other, Lt. Richard Goodwin of University Police said. University Police could not release any additional information as the case is currently under investigation.

Thieves ride off with stolen bicycles

A female student reported her bike stolen near the Walter Pyramid on Thursday. The victim had parked her bike a week prior and later found it missing. The bike is described as a black and silver Mongoose mountain bike.

Another bike theft was reported near the East Loop on Sept. 29. The victim parked his bike at 5 p.m. and used a cable lock. Goodwin said that the model of the bike is unknown, but that it  is silver in color. There is no serial number or identification on the bike. The approximate value of the bike is $200.

Goodwin said that another bike theft occurred near the College of Business and Administration on Sept. 29. between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The victim used a cable lock on their black Electra beach cruiser valued at $150.

Cell phones stolen during night classes.

A student reported that her cell phone was stolen Saturday.  Goodwin said that the victim’s phone was stolen in her night class in Fine Arts 1 on Thursday. The student described the cell phone as a pink iPhone 5c.

Another student reported that her phone was stolen on the evening of Sept. 30. The student’s cell phone was reportedly within her bag, but was stolen during her night class. Goodwin described the cell phone as a teal Samsung Galaxy S5.
