Crime blotter: Missing juvenile, fire and stolen bike

Trash can fire

There was a fire in a trash can on the north side of the international housing March 3 at 11:23 p.m. Officers received the call, and when they arrived, they were able to extinguish the fire. The fire department did not need to be called, police said.

Bye bye birdie

Animal control was called March 7 at 8:50 a.m. after a hummingbird was found injured. When animal control arrived the hummingbird wasn’t there, it had flown away.

Lost-and-found child

A woman working at the Pyramid couldn’t find her 12-year-old child when she got off work March 6 at 12:54 a.m. The child was found 45 minutes later in the woman’s car when the police arrived.

Can’t get my fix

A 19-year-old male reported that his red and black fixie bike was stolen from Parkside Commons March 5 at 8:47 a.m. There are no leads and the bike doesn’t have a serial number.

Kick-and-run

Officers responded to a call about a 20-year-old man that was kicking the door at 5800 Atherton St. March 6 at 3:33 a.m. When officers arrived the man was gone.

Possible drunk driving

Officers received a DUI report for a 30-year-old man who was driving a blue sedan at Seventh Street and Ximeno Avenue March 4, 10:25 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, the driver was gone.
