Sigma Chi raises money for Huntsman Cancer Institute

A little rain didn’t stop Sigma Chi Fraternity from hosting a dunking game for cancer research Thursday.

Sigma Chi fraternity member, Nick Mooney said that the event was scheduled long ago, so the fraternity was not expecting rain today.

“We’re trying to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute and our goal for the year is to raise $20,000,” Mooney said. “So far [the fraternity] has raised a little over $9,000, and we have other events scheduled later in the semester.”

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is a cancer research facility.

Though the rain was unexpected, Sigma Chi did not leave and stayed until 4 p.m.
