2nd CSULB student diagnosed with swine flu

Another Cal State Long Beach student was confirmed yesterday to have tested positive for Novel Influenza A (H1N1), or swine flu.
 
According to the CSULB website, the student, who was diagnosed as "presumptive positive" prior to receiving test results from the Centers of Disease Control, experienced flu-like symptoms last week.
 
After being tested and treated, she was sent home and classmates and faculty were notified. She has since recovered, the website said.
 
The number of new local cases has been decreasing. The Los Angeles Times reported that as of May 21, 43 confirmed cases of California's 445 were in Los Angeles County. Yesterday, health officials announced the first death of a person infected with the flu in the county, a middle-aged woman who "also had underlying health problems," according to the the Los Angeles Times.
