Graffiti Beach event to be a spectacle of a variety of art

Project WOO and Graffiti Beach are bringing artists, musicians and fashion designers together under one roof.

Huntington Beach’s Shorebreak Hotel will accommodate several Southern California artists and local bands during Graffiti Beach’s Independence Pop-up event on Sunday, June 13. There will be a number of Pop-Up Shops lined up for the eight-hour event.

Tickets are $10 with half of the proceeds going to Project WOO, which, according to its website, promotes “sustainable community development in the surfing regions of Latin America.

Graffiti Beach is a pop-up shop that strives to create a place for passionate artists to find inspiration. This event will expose the talents of designers and artists while selling their beachwear merchandise for low wholesale prices, from 40 percent to 75 percent off retail price.

Nicolette Ulrich, Graffiti Beach’s director of events, said, “We find artists through websites, trade shows and recommendations from past models, designers and musicians.” Ulrich has been with the project since January. She noted that the Graffiti events tend to attract younger, creative and passionate people.

Local musicians, including Kevin Misajon, Cory Case and the Swine, and Semi Sweet will perform at the event.

Spinning at the DJ booth will be DJ Mia and DJ Munch.

There will also be a bikini fashion show, live art and food.

Local artists will showcase their work at the event, including Brad Parker, Chris Del More, Michael White, Kitty Brown, Agony Coronado, Joseph ‘Sentrock’ Perez, Lainie Willow, Din Mayorga, Damet1, Blair Urban, and Yuki Miyazaki.

Vendors will include Arka, Denim of Virtue, Deetra, Devious Damzels, Human Being Inspired, Lolli Beach Candy, Sela, Shag, Tripletwo, Vinessa Clarise, Print it on Canvas, Overflow and Tara Jade Designs.

The Shorebreak Hotel is located at 500 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. For more information or to purchase tickets check out Graffitibeach.org.
