Herrera played the harmonica throughout the evening Wednesday as he spoke to students about his "Chicano animal house" life and finding his voice, both as a part of the student movement and as an individual.
California Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera shook up the normal routine Wednesday by filling the classroom with words - from floor to ceiling. Later that night, the Chicano and Latino Studies department had Herrera speak to students at Karl Anatol Conference Center about expressing themselves.
