Senior Ash Blythen and junior Derek Wiebe-Bailey were selected to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation team on Monday.
Blythen, the 49ers’ second-leading scorer, and Wiebe-Bailey, fifth on the national list of goalie saves per game, were selected to the MPSF third team for the 2008 season.
Blythen recorded 44 goals this season, eight of which came in the end-of-the-season MPSF Tournament. Blythen also tallied six hat tricks during the season.
With 281 saves in 31 games played, Wiebe-Bailey’s name appears as a top-five goalie in the 2008 season.
Long Beach State (14-18, 2-9 MPSF) finished eighth in the MPSF and ninth in the nation.
