Link earns Big West Offensive Player of the the Year Award

Senior forward Nadia Link earned her second consecutive Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year award and joined four teammates as an All-Big West selection.

Link, who scored eight goals for the 49ers this season, led the Big West in shots (78), assists (9) and points (25). She is joined on the All-Big West first team by senior defender Alex Balcer, who also earned first team All-Big West honors in 2011.

Also earning All-Big West honors were junior forward Eileen Maes and senior midfielder Kelsey Wilson on the second team and sophomore midfielder Taylor Nelson as an honorable mention. Freshmen Elizabeth Lyons and Hannah Sanders were named to the all-freshman team.

The ‘Niners (12-7, 5-4 Big West) are finished with their regular season and holding out hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. The Big West tournament will go on this weekend without them as Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge and Cal Poly battle for the conference crown.
