The LBSU women’s soccer team tied for second and received one first-place vote in the 2013 Big West Preseason Coaches Poll.
The 49ers received 62 points to tie with UC Irvine for second place. Cal State Fullerton received five first-place votes and 72 points to claim the top spot. Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge rounded out the top five.
Three 49ers were also named to the Big West Preseason All-Conference team. Lyons, senior midfielder Eileen Maes and junior midfielder Taylor Nelson earned the honor.
