Dean Bittner was named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men's National Player of the Week on Monday.
Bittner led the 49ers to victories in last week's Active Ankle Tournament over IPFW and defending national champion Penn State.
The junior opposite posted 13 kills, three digs and five blocks in LBSU's 3-0 win over IPFW Friday night. Bittner followed up that effort with 18 kills, four digs, six blocks and three aces in the 49ers' 3-2 win over the Nittany Lions Saturday night.
He earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors after hitting .369, while averaging 3.88 kills and 1.38 blocks per set in the two-day event.
This marks Bittner's third National Player of the Week honor of his career.
