Freshman Shawna Gordon was recently invited to participate in the United States U-20 National Team camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

The Rancho Cucamonga-native is part of a talent pool from which the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup team will be chosen.

"Shawna is deserving of this opportunity as she has been playing at a very high level this entire spring," 49er head coach Mauricio Ingrassia said in a press release. "She has come a long way from her first few weeks here and we are looking forward to her continued development."

In her first season at LBSU, Gordon started 16 of the 23 games she appeared in, tabbing Big West honorable mention recognition. She previously played for the U-17 National team, tallying a goal and an assist.
