Cedars-Sinai Tops California Hospital Rankings in 2026-27 U.S. News Survey
Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center has once again cemented its place at the pinnacle of California’s healthcare landscape. In the August 2026 release of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2026‑27 rankings, the Los Angeles teaching hospital earned a spot on the national Honor Roll for the eleventh consecutive year and tied for first in both California and the Los Angeles region.
The Honor Roll highlights hospitals that achieve high marks across multiple specialties. Cedars‑Sinai’s 919‑bed facility was among the top 20 U.S. hospitals in ten areas, including cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and pulmonology. Specialty rankings for the affiliates highlighted orthopedics (#27 nationally) and obstetrics & gynecology (#44 for Torrance Memorial, #33‑tie for Huntington Health). Marina Hospital earned a “High‑Performing” designation for common adult procedures such as back surgery, hip replacement, and pneumonia.
U.S. News noted that the 2026‑27 methodology places a heavier emphasis on outcomes and introduces regional rankings for cancer, cardiology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. The Honor Roll operates on a points‑based system that rewards consistent excellence across several domains.
