One lane in each direction on PCH will remain open at all times. Dan Leon, the construction inspector for Cal Trans, said delays will be “five to 10 minutes max.”
The construction will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Kelvin Tran, resident engineer for Cal Trans, said the chosen times are meant to avoid disrupting work traffic, but said students coming at different times of the day may be affected.
According to Mark Rudometkin, associate director of Parking and Access Services at Cal State Long Beach, shuttles to and from the Marina Lot will remain unaffected.
Nonetheless, “We will make adjustments as necessary if the need arises,” Rudometkin said.
The project will be completed in December, according to an estimate by Cal Trans.
